Activities
SGX is the X-ray characterization platform of IRIG. The instrumental park includes powder diffractometers, single crystals, medium / high resolution thin films and a small angle scattering camera. The gathering of the specialized specialists of X-X complementary skills, which intervene in the accompaniment during measurements but also in the processing and analysis of the data. Training is an important activity of the laboratory.

In 2015 we hosted a Smartlab X-ray diffractometer of RIGAKU brand. It is equipped with a 9KW rotating anode source with Cu.

Trainings
The SGX organizes training in different specialties of X-ray characterization.

• Single crystal diffraction
• Small angle scattering
• Diffraction on polycrystalline materials
• Characterization of thin layers - from powder ... to single crystals ...
• High resolution diffraction

These courses are validated by the doctoral schools of physics and chemistry / life sciences.
