A new two-sided Janus SPtSe material has been designed by researchers at our laboratory and at Spintec for potential applications in magnetic and ferroelectric memories. This two-dimensional material is a member of the family of transition metal dichalcogenides (S, Se or Te atoms), which are sought after for their electronic, photonic, catalytic or magnetic properties, which are closely linked to the details of their 2D structure.
